Summer 1977, St. Louis, Missouri - Two 14-year old boys undertake an epic, two-day bicycle trek across the entire metropolitan area. Their goal - a dumpster in a downtown alley containing nearly ten years-worth of adult magazines. The story loosely parallels the 1969 classic “Easy Rider,” in which characters played by Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda strike out on motorcycles in search of an idealized America that seems further and further out of reach.
In “Schwinn Varsity,” Tom Curtin and Harvey Presnell strike out on bicycles in search of "some old guy's discarded porn stash." As is often the case in a story of substance, the journey itself becomes the true narrative.
Regardless of whether they make it or not, the bravery and audaciousness of their quest will become legendary.
